pent 133-1.4 gig h/d-16 megs memoryi got it to boot into dsl 0.7.3 but it kept crashing when i ran the h/d install script. probably cause not enough memory. but when it dumped to the prompt i just type "sudo -u root dsl-hdinstall" and it ran thru. i couldnt see what it was doing cause it ran off the bottom of my screen so it took a couple of trial and errors of what to press and when lol. but in the end i got some reboot to finish crap, so i ran "sudo -u root mkliloboot" and rebooted and now it works =-D. 1gig main partition, and 378 meg swap*which i probably didnt need all that* one question i have is this. can i get firefox to run?? or should i just stick with dillo for webpage browsing? Use the Opera extension.It will give you reasonable performance on that computer compared to Firefox. Either way you would be best served by installing some more RAM. Posted by litdie on Oct. 07 2004,15:32
i was going to but the cost of more ram is the same price of what i paid for it. 150$ LOLso eh*shrugz* i just installed to mess with. nothing seriuos lol. one thing, i cant get my pcmcia networking card to work >< and suggestions? |
