Has anyone got DSL running on a Toshiba Tecra 8000 laptop?

I have made a DSL boot CD-ROM that works on a Compaq desktop, but I'm having trouble with the Tecra laptop. It starts to boot into DSL but freezes half-way through. (I forget the exact point - it finds the processor, scans SCSI and USB etc, but then freezes and no error messages appear)

Any ideas gratefully received!

If you can find out at exactly which point it freezes, you're more likely to get useful help.

Try entering failsafe at the boot prompt, or if you can narrow down where the lockup occurs you can disable it specifically with (for example) nousb.

Good luck

I tested on a tecra 8000 too.

It froze after testing the energy saving settings. Because I was I wanted a hd-install I started using cheatcodes to disable most autodection execpt pcmcia and usb (dsl noapic noapm noscsi ...) and then it started fine.

After hd-install everything worked fine without any freezing right from the start. Only the sound card needed some manual configuration to work after the hd-install.
