Hello,

I have a Dell Latitude C800, with the current DSL 0.9.3 when I just boot as normal or toram it get to the pcmcia card bus detection and just sits there never going past.  So I tried booting with no{pcmcia} and still the went looking for the dam thing.  Last try boot option with all most no hardware detection and it worked I was finally able to play with DSL on my notebook.

Now the question why did the "no{pcmcia}" still look for it?  And if I use the no hardware detection option is there any way I can get my network card to work?

Thank you for you time

Look on Google for "Knoppix Cheatcodes".
There might be a combination of those that will solve your problem.
You are on the right track, of course, but perhaps there is another cheatcode or two that will work. If you have broadband, try downloading the full Knoppix 3.4 or 3.7 distribution, and try that. You cannot "toram" one of those, as they are nearly 700 MB. If you get Knoppix to work, then perhaps you can  try again with DSL. I do have a Toshiba laptop with pcmcia cards (modem) that is detected and runs just fine with either DSL or Knoppix. On Knoppix, I use:
fb800x600 knoppix acpi=off myconfig=scan
for my boot: cheatcode line.
