Hi all,

I am completely new to linux and have been trying to save my old IBM thinkpad 380XD. Have completed the hd installation of dsl but somehow cannot get the X session to work correctly. Have tried all the options in the xsetup.sh but it still starts X with a quite unreadable monochromatic screen with vertical lines. The desktop is there but can hardly make out the items. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
thanx
george

A quick use of the Forum search button revealed the following thread:

Bottom line, try booting from the livecd with the boot command:

dsl xsetup vga=787

and then choose the xfbdev server from the menu.

Good Luck.
