I have a Compaq Armada and have installed duel booted DSL 1.1.I have a Belkin Wireless G Notebook Network Card that runs under Windows so I know it works, but DSL can't find it.
I get an error when I try to configure it that says no wireless card found.
I saw posts saying to use ndiswrapper and when I ran it it found a file
on my windows partition called netcard.inf.
It then asked for sid and wep. Not knowing what went there, I backed off.
As a bit of a newbie, can someone tell me if this card works on DSL and if so how do I get it to run.
Please don't leave any steps out, I'm pretty new with this distribution and only past linux was pretty much automated distros.

Can you tell me how you managed to install DSL on your Armada please? When I eventually managed to get into my Armada's BIOS I found that there was no option to boot from CD

Mine is a Compaq Armada 7710MT. It boots from CD without problems.The laptop has 64 megs of RAM, 150 mhz CPU, and a 1.6 gig HD.
I made a 500 meg partition for DSL and a 64 meg swap partition.

Hi, to use ndiswrapper you have to point it to the Windows *.inf file your Wifi card is using. What you saw was just a suggestion. Yours is quite probably not called netcard.inf.
What I did was copy 3 windows driver files my wifi card was using to my root folder (C: in windows), in my case they were named wlanpci.inf, wlanpci.sys and wlanpci.cat. This was done using windows.
Then I opened up an xterminal window in DSL and mounted my C: drive by using the command ¨mount /dev/hda1¨
When the drive has been mounted you can click on DSLPanel>ndiswrapper and input the complete path to your *.inf file. It should look like this if you copied it to your C: drive: /mnt/hda1/your_inf_file.inf
Leave the device entry as is, but input the SID for your network.
I tried to input my WEP key, but it never worked, I had to disable WEP on my router to get a connection, so I left that entry blank. After clicking OK, you should see the lights come on your card.
If your router is set to allow DHCP, that`s all there is to do.
