Hello 2 all! I have one major problem. I have laptop IBM 385ED (from 1997 year, 16 mb ram, 2100mb hdd, pentium mmx 166mhz).
I have installed DSL few days ago. Usually I use on this machine debian, but DSL is much better and faster. I have only one problem - system doesn't see my sound card. How can i configure it to work best? Please help me...

Regs.

That computer uses the crystal 4236 chip..

Try using modprobe commands from a root shell..

modprobe opl3 io=0x388
modprobe cs4232 io=0x534 irq=5 dma=1 dma2=0 mpuio=0x330 mpuirq=9

Exit X ( crtl-alt-bksp ) , then restart X ( type 'startx' at prompt )
Look for the wmix dockapp in the lower right hand corner..

If successful, add these commands to your /opt/bootlocal.sh file,
and run a backup to preserve them for next reboot.

Looks like that laptop will hold up to 40MB of ram.
Try to get some more for it..  40MB's would be best for DSL.

Let us know..
