So are you running a 486 or a new 3.0ghz machine? A few bits of info on your system might be helpful....torp Posted by Dirk on July 25 2005,07:51

On the couple of laptops I've worked with I had to use the "NO" options at boot. I assume you're using a liveCD to boot. When it starts up and you see the DSL logo, press F2. I can't remember all the options but one of them is NO followed by a list of items. I'm writing this from memory but I think I usually start a laptop with: DSL NOPCMCIA NOACPI XSETUP or something close to that (check the list from the F2 boot screen) I add a lot of them at first and then start removing them one by one and rebooting till I find the minimum I need to boot the laptop.
