Compaq Presario 1245 333mhz 64 ram put in the cd and everything is normal while booting(black background , readable font) then when its all done booting, everything goes light green and the text / icons go white and they aren';t totally defined so its almost impossible to read i;m able to open shell or anything as long as i remember where it is. any suggestions? thanks Posted by green on Aug. 05 2005,03:33
when you get to the boot prompt, you can try the various boot options. I have a different kind of laptop, but I have to use:dsl fb1024x768 at the boot prompt, or I get the same kind of uglyness that you describe. You can also try: dsl xsetup at the boot prompt, so when it's almost done and prompts you for seme setup, you can try frame buffer ( fb ) modes until you find what works. Good luck! Some laptops don't like 1024x768, so an alternative would be:fb800x600 NOT dsl fb800x600 Posted by flapjack on Aug. 07 2005,02:34
cool ! thanks! that workedone more thing, how do you make the screen fit the physical screen? my mouse can go off the physical screen on the bottom and on the left. Posted by cbagger01 on Aug. 07 2005,04:05
Maybe 800x600 is too large for your monitor.try: fb640x480 and see if that works. |
