What is going on? Where are older topics? I've reinstaled DSL on my laptop, and HOW CAN I MAKE MY SOUND CARD WORKING??? Help me...

We can tell you the correct OSS driver to load if you tell us which model sound chip your laptop has.
(I could possibly discover this information myself on Google ... but fair's fair.)

Quite a few people have discussed Thinkpad issues on this forum, some may be relevant to your 380 ED.
Try a search on this forum for "Thinkpad".

< Here >
is some info/insmod commands to try- not exactly your model,
but good for crystal sound card.
If that loads the correct modules after you restart X,
you can put the following in /opt/bootlocal.sh

modprobe sound* may be there already- lsmod will tell you
modprobe ad1848
modprobe uart401
modprobe cs4232 io=0x530 irq=5 dma=1 dma2=0

This is what I have for an IBM TP 380XD

here is my /opt/bootlocal.sh

rmmod soundcore
rmmod cs4232
modprobe sound
insmod ad1848
insmod uart401
insmod cs4232 io=0x534 irq=5 dma=1 dma2=0 mpuio=0x330 mpuirq=5

for my old stinkpad 380ED
works bangin good
