Hi,

i am pretty novice with linux, so my question might be rather stupid. I noticed that when I boot from the cd i have to insert the command fb800x600 to see anything in my old laptop. But i have installed dsl to hdd, and i would like to run this from there. The question is, how (and where) should I insert the command fb800x600 in orther to see dsl without the use of any bootable disk?

cheers,
vasco

You need to edit your bootloader's config file and change the "vga" line to read:

vga=788

and then save the file.

Finally, rerun your bootloader to activate the changes.

The exact steps are different depending on the type of bootloader program used, IE: lilo vs grub
