ok, here is a good one for you, i had downloaded the livedisk from bittorrent (not sure what site) and popped the disk in, excited to have linux on my system from the Too large windows (my laptop is 80mb ram, 133mhz P1, 4.5 gig hdd) and i was told about dsl, now the cd booted fine, and i got a bunch of errors saying this was not plugged in and that was not plugged in....and it was in *english* then i had to type a code at the "a" promt and i forget what it was.....but when i did that....guess what?? It was in german, or dutch...sure as heck was not english...i am re-d/l from the linux web page...anyway, why would it not just boot up normal? and why was my floopy drive non exhistent and my cd-rom drive was drive a??? did i do something wrong? and if the laptop needs to be partioned is there a way to undo that later?? i am desperate here *S* thanks in advance as i know *nothing* about linux

I have a 1520DM and i had to use:fb800x600 at boot to get decent video. English is default so you may have typed in something wrong. You can see the optional boot up commands by pressing F2 or F3 when the boot screen appears, or you can look here for a list: < http://damnsmalllinux.org/wiki....code.3F > Also, search the forums, most questions have already been asked. |
