Greets from new member.I reacently got TP770 without hdd and most likely i'm newer getting one (caddy is bizarre and too expensive) TP has floppy or cd(not at same time) and one USB, so booting with cd, installing to USB-stick and booting with floppy (no USB boot i'm affraid) is way to go? Is USB CF-card reader supported? I have couple old small cards somewhere. Can i use usb-hub and use cf-card as extra drive? Posted by Poju on Sep. 16 2005,18:30
Ok installed to usb-stick without broblems, haven't tinkered any harware yet(sound etc..). Next i try to install to cf card with usb reader. Hmm thinkpad supprots booting from pcmcia... maybe from pcmcia cf-reader?

I have little broblem with my wlan.I tryed tu use ndiswrapper with w2k drivers (RT2500), but after little while system just freezes. I dowloaded linux driver and copyed it to usb stick(in windoze machine), but there is no room to unzip it. In secon partition sda2 seems to be room, but i won't copy there(don't remember exact error). Any advise how to make my wireless card to work? Posted by Poju on Sep. 21 2005,07:49
Ok everything works now, but not togeather. I can have eighter sound or wlan. How can one check what resources my wlan uses (=irq, memory adress...) in linux and if i have conflict, how to change those settings? And while i'm asking these questions is there any gps mapping software that supports OziExplorers .map files for linux |
