Hi, I am new to Linux and totally new DSL, this is a cross post....

I want to install this on my laptop (Toshiba 230CX, 32MB, 1.4GB), I have no CD player, just a floppy and a Xircom PCMCIA card. Somehow after 2 days I have managed to install a cut down version of Debian..do not ask me how as it was pure guess work....

I want to replace it with DSL as it looks ideal for me. can someone please help me with step by step idiot instructions ? There was no OS on the laptop but I managed to get the Debian installed.

thanks

Can you find a pcmcia cdrom?

Also if you want you could find a laptop to ide adapter and install that way

Yeah they are both valid options but I only have a small amount cash left with which I am hoping to buy some extra memory.

So, is there any other way?? I was hoping to use the boot floppy and then allow the laptop to connect to the net and do a net install like I did with Debian.

iakudi, take a look at < this entry > from the documentation.  Perhaps you can try doing that.
