Hi Folkz,

A friend of mine had this Compaq Armada 1520 D (133 MHz, 48 MB RAM  4G HD)  gathering dust ..... so DSL2 must be the right way.

I got pretty far ... X is running but

colors are mostly garbled
best option  Xvesa 800x600 4 bit   Style Minimal  only setup that is workable....

No icons.... my plan is to make a simple IM, mail and surf unit in the living room.... (nice quiet lappy) so I would appreciate to have icons there....

Besides... on my other PC (300 MHz 96 MB)   DSL2  ROCKZZZ !!

PLse send suggestions to make lappy purrr

I have the same machine with the same performance description.
I, also, would like to hear some suggestions.

You probably have to install the full Xfree package - I think there is a myDSL package. If you need to find out which graphics chipset your have, run the lspci command. Also, 133 MHz and 48 MB may be a bit on the (s)low side to run Firefox.

Installing additional packages requires an working internet connection. This is still a work in progress
