Hi!

Sadly, everytime i boot up dsl 2 (or 1.5) my laptop keyboard stops working after typing about 10 characters. Even the return key stops to work. This is the same booting from cd and usbpendrive. Sometimes the keyboard works a bit longer (once i even succeeded in doing the pendrive install), sometimes not at all. The mouse continues to work, and all the programs work too. I am booting with nopcmcia, but with acpi because otherwise (with acpi=off) the usbpendrive doesnt work (and the keyboard doesnt anyway).
Knoppix 3.9 and 4 work fine, but with featherlinux i get the same problem.
My laptop is a Gericom 1st Supersonic PCI-E (Quanta KN1 barebone).
Does anyone what could be the cause for this weird problem or even a solution?

Mfg,

wow, thats a particually strange problem.

It reminds me of a friend who's computer will occationally recognise his mouse/keyboard and occationally not - this ONLY happens when he runs XP apparently, get what you pay for?

Anyway, enough of that, lets try to get to the bottom of this.

Is you keyboard external to the laptop?, have you tried one that is? (try ps2 and usb if you  can). Do you have latest bios version? (flash upgrade if not)

I keep thinking of the keyboard buffer thing, you only get so much data before it overflows (usually it clears obviously), maybe it has something to do with this.

Theres probably some sort of OS level problem going on with DSL, or your motherboard (or part of) is rather poorly designed/completly messed.

Anyway thoes are the questions I would be asking myself, hope it helped (even if all it did was bump your post)

I aplolgise for any loss of braincells by anyone who just read any of that.
