I have installed to HD and enabled apt and synaptic. When I try to upgrade (either at command line or in synaptic) the process begins but after a short time I get a query message about pcmcia service running and shouldn't update while running. No matter what I choose it stops upgrading and breaks my networking. I can't seem to find any way to get around it, even shutting off pcmcia (/etc/init.d/pcmcia stop). I will try to get the exact replay, but my partitions can't see eachother right now, and I keep ending up networkless on the dsl side! Thanks, BTW, I donated! Posted by cbagger01 on Aug. 04 2005,21:46
Don't apt-get UPGRADE DSL.DSL is a customized version of Debian and doing an upgrade or a dist upgrade will break the system. Instead, try upgrading just the individual packages that you need to upgrade. If you want true dist-upgrade functionality, then download the real Debian install disk and use it to buid a pure Debian system. |
