It just works.
I've long been a fan of Linux in general, and larger distributions more specifically (SuSE, Mandriva, Fedora, etc.). But recently I have found that I do not need 99% of the programs and daemons in those distros that clog up my system resources. When it came time to resurrect my old Gateway laptop (because I can't afford an iBook), I immediately thought of Linux. I installed the new SuSE, and found that the bloat was too much for my lil' laptop to handle.
I remembered the name Damn Small Linux from poking around distrowatch.com and thought I'd give it a try. It install flawlessly the first time, and everything "just worked." I was so excited by this new find that I made the mistake of downloading and trying several other tiny Linux distributions. None of them compared the the ease-of-use, size, and functionality of DSL.
Thank you for a wonderful OS. Keep up the great work.
