Hi All,

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has put in time and effort to produce such a fantastic Operating System.

DSL has saved me from throwing away perfectly good hardware that is just not up to running a Linux desktop e.g. SUSE and such like.

DSL has given me hours of fun and will continue to do so. I tried other small Linux distros but DSL is the 'lightest' and fastest on my hardware -- isn't Dillo great!?!

My system is:

AMD K6-2 500Mhz
128Mb RAM (64 + 32 + 32)
1Gb Hard Drive (using frugal install leaves around 1300Mb free!)
2Mb Matrox Graphics Card
Ancient CDROM drive (2x or 4x I think)
10/100Mbps LAN card (NE2000)
USB 1.1 port

many thanks once again & may everyone have a happy Christmas and a fantastic New Year!

Peter.

I have a Compaq laptop with similar specs:

500 MHz AMD K6-2
64MB RAM
6GB hard drive
24x CD-ROM drive
Lucent Winmodem (works with DSL 2.0 or later)
4MB shared Trident CyberBlade graphics
PCMCIA 3Com Megahertz 10/100 network card (original owner of the laptop gave me it)
USB 1.1 port

I have yet to get a new PCMCIA wireless card, 128MB RAM, and an installation of the latest DSL.

DSL will fly on that rig!

It does!  I use it for quick surfing and listening to the streams on SHOUTcast.
