I have been evaluating DSL for the past few days and couldn't help wondering about some packages that are performing the same function.

For instance:

1. jwm and fluxbox: why not stick to one of them and save some space?
2. vim and beaver: two editors?  a full version of vim is quite sufficient
3. Dillo and Firefox:  Why two browsers?  Firefox is quite sufficient

How much space could be saved with these changes?

Not much.

jwm, beaver and Dillo are small programs.

fluxbox, vim and Firefox are generally considered to be "must keep" programs.
