Many thanks cbagger01,

I'm posting this from a DSL Firefox browser, booted from a CD, and loaded with a boot command:-   'dsl restore=hda1'

So I'm over the moon!!!!!

The speed of loading Yahoo is like greased lightening compared to M$ crud!

Next challenge is to get the Lexmark X1150 usb printer to work!

A very happy, and thank you again,

Tim

Three moe questions:-

1)  When using Emelfm, trying to look on hda1, I clock on 'su' (bottom right on its window)  It then asks for a password.

Whats the password?

2)  I use 'Backup' from 'DSL Control Panel' to save settings etc, (great on bookmarks) but I can't get back into hda1 to load files.

What do I need to do to ensure I can directly access hda1 after a reboot?

3)   After a few minutes the screen goes blank.  Old unix joke for when phospors burnt out easy.  How to I change this?  I'm happy driving the CLI.

Many thanks,

Tim

OK, asking three questions was a bit greedy! *LOL*

In Emrlfm there is an box that allows 'SU@ status.  But it asks for a password.

Anyone know what that password is?

:)

Type

sudo su
passwd

and then assign a new password to this account.  Then you will know the password :)

The screen saver stuff is somewhere in the forum, try using the search function.

It is an "OR" based search engine, so if you want to find "screen saver", you need to search for:

screen AND saver

as your keyword string.  And if you want to include wildcards (IE: savers has an "s" at the end of the word):

*screen* AND *saver*
