I've tried to install to an el cheepo 128 MB CompUSA brand USB 2.0 Flash Drive.

The first step is to reformat for HDD or Zip emulation.

It starts going, the tumbling cursor shows something is happening, and I can see a tiny light blinking in the flash drive.

Then, the tumbling cursor freezes, the light keeps blinking (slowly) and nothing else happens.

Fortunately, Windozzzzz still recognizes the flash drive.

Am I making a stupid newby mistake?

Are CompUSA brand products not to be trusted?

In my experience the tumbling cursor freezes for 30+ seconds during installation. Try waiting a while and see if it continues.

Before I bought my Lexar Jumpdrive, I had a no name flash drive from Walmart, it died after a short time. Walmart took it back and gave me credit toward a Lexar. I now have two Lexars, one has DSL the other DSL-N. Both have been reliable for several monthbs.
