I'vebeen having trouble because I'm so new at *nix, using the wrong terms etc.
To create a DSLopenMopix distro, I'll have to:
1. Download the isos for both DSL and openMopix.
2. Since a distro is compressed, I'll have to decompress both.
3. Swap the patched Linux kernal from openMopix into DSL. (John, Roberts, will this break something in DSL?)
4. Add the openMopix tarballs in /OPTIONAL and burn a new iso.
5. John, Roberts and whomever else could adapt the myDSL app loader to become a myCluster scheduler whereby the user would select a superDSLcomputing project to support with just a few keyclicks. (As I've said, the fees could go to support further DSL development.) See: http://www.wired.com/news/technology/1,37293-0.html
I haven't looked into all the nitty gritty details of it yet, but a myCluster scheduler would probably return the IP address of the main node of a cluster project. The new slave node would negotiate connection with the main node.
so:
Do I have it right about swapping the kernal?
Would this work?
