Can anyone give me a good answer to this?
Accord to this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Linux_distributions

DSL is small and capable for graphical desktop but Basic Linux is smaller!

I've been using DSL and i really want to make this friend of mine using as well but it seem like everytime i tell him what good about DSL, he always have a better answer against me.

So DSL users out there, please give me a definite answer to defeat him.
Thanx

Well, I guess I would make the point that smaller size doesn't mean better if the smaller distribution doesn't work with one's hardware or do what one wants it to do.

You could propose a challenge:
1) Agree on a core set of functions (e.g., boot, browse the web, play an audio file, etc.).
2) Download Basic Linux and time the process of copying it to HD or floppy, booting and performing those core functions (if indeed Basic Linux can do them - include time to download and configure extra modules).
3) Download a DSL ISO and time the process of burning a CD, booting and performing the core functions.

It'll depend on the hardware and the desired functions, but I bet for most people going the DSL route would be faster and easier.

On another note, one 50MB business card-size CD IS smaller than two floppy disks (two floppies being one option for booting Basic Linux) ! :-)

I am curious as to why you want to convert him if he is happy.

Anyway, point to the community size.

I chose it as it was the one working on an anicent PII and incl. a running web server (Monkey HTTP Daemon).

When you reinstall it protects your home dir and your web server files.

That was a good link about Linux Distributions.  I didn't see Blueflops in the list and it seems to have more on two floppies then Basic Linux.  It great for booting up an old PC.  Here is the link:

http://blueflops.sourceforge.net/

I think that every Linux distribution has it own special features and what makes DSL work for me is that it is easy to learn and can boot from CD and USB.  I like the apps it has and it can be expanded with new ones.  So you could ask him does Basic Linux come with Firefox?
