OK, thanks for the help everyone haha im slowly plugging away at learning the basics of linux hihi (Amateur radio jargon there...)  anyway, I reinstalled DSL and now everything works, the mydsl apps install.  but how tdo I save them?  everytime I reboot their gone, I know that if their in ramdisk they will be lost but I can make the directory /dev/hda5/myDSL  (HDA5 is what I made all data storage on).   Any suggestions?

When your desktop loads you should see a browser window open up with a page called "Getting Started".  Please read that.  Also, at the very least, please read the FAQ, which is linked on the damnsmall index page.

And for the devs:
Quote (stuff @ getting started)
New starting with 0.7.1 is the optional directory.
Maybe this should also mention the newer "mydsl" directory =o)
