why you do not create a more light version of dsl, without firefox,to save space?
my old 486 cannot run firefox.

why do not create also a text-version of dsl,to resume up my 386?
barry kauler have created puppy onebone,a text version of puppy, but cannot contain a hard disk installer.
dsl have  a text-mode hard disk installer!

If you want to remove embedded apps from DSL, have a look at the script mikshaw is working on there:

DSL was originally developed as an experiment to see how many usable desktop applications can fit inside a 50MB live CD. (Quote from http://damnsmalllinux.org/)
Of course because DSL is GPLed you are free to build a text-version of DSL.
