I am using 3.3RC1. I have looked around but have been unable to find a script that will enable apt-get successfully, can anyone provide me with a link or directions on how to enable apt-get after downloading dsl-dpkg.unc or .dsl on my hdd install?

For a traditional hard drive install, as user root navigate to your downloaded dsl-dpkg.dsl and run

# /etc/init.d/mydsl-install dsl-dpkg.dsl
# apt-get update

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but maybe I will have to reinstall a hdd installation?...I'm only working with a Pentium II 300 mhz 3.94GB

usually it's the other way around. unless you have a good reason for a hd install. frugal is much cleaner and less hassle.

I re-partitioned and re-installed DSL...followed the hdd instructions to a t and everything's working good w/ installing DSL programs...just need to learn my way in using the apps but the search function is coming in handy -..thanks again all.
