However, now that Debian has a permanent home for "Woody" the download script can once again be enabled as the download target is once again stable.

Look for this in v3.3RC2

I am using 3.3RC1. I have looked around but have been unable to find a script that will enable apt-get successfully, can anyone provide me with a link or directions on how to enable apt-get after downloading dsl-dpkg.unc or .dsl on my hdd install?

For a traditional hard drive install, as user root navigate to your downloaded dsl-dpkg.dsl and run

# /etc/init.d/mydsl-install dsl-dpkg.dsl
# apt-get update

# mydsl-install dsl-dpkg.dsl

I first tried as you suggested and got
Quote

root@box:/tmp# mydsl-install dsl-dpkg.dsl
bash: mydsl-install command not found

Then I switched back to DSL and got
Quote

dsl@box:/tmp$ mydsl-load dsl.dpkg.dsl
rm: unable to remove `tmp/noload': operation not permitted

I was able to get this but I'm not sure if I'm ready for debian packages

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but maybe I will have to reinstall a hdd installation?...I'm only working with a Pentium II 300 mhz 3.94GB

>.. I went from live cd to a direct hd install (didn't want to try frugal yet.)
usually it's the other way around. unless you have a good reason for a hd install. frugal is much cleaner and less hassle.
