hmm, i had thought about this before, but it's tricky in a number of ways. it means modifying existing config files, which is not impossible, but some people don't like that. also each font has it's own different font line, which means a 'standard' set of fonts needs to be agreed, (and they have to be free).

since language fonts tend to stay there after installed, maybe i'ts not such a good idea to mydsl load them. a more permanent solution (e.g remastering) is called for but it's not for newbies.
i am thinking maybe someone is willing to make & host alternative language distros in sync with updates. but is this worth it for just 'browsing' eh? afterall, there's still no ime.

(i remember 'linux pilot' magazine once did a chinese distro of DSL, but i couldn't get my hands on it and i've searched everywhere, no luck. i wonder if that had an ime? )

/edit: oh, i just read your other posts, i guess someone figured out the ime solution already.

xitonghan, I'm from Thailand. I'm using a mydsl extension for Thai fonts adding into DSL.  It works fine in Firefox.  :D
I plan to add more Asian bitmap fonts into this mydsl extension.
You may help me to search for Simplified Chinese fonts (gb2312) and Traditional Chinese fonts (big5) that I can test them.  :;):
