DSL 3.4 uses (shows) 100% CPU on my laptop even in idle state, 0% on my desktop in idle state.

What can be the reason ? I have used boot option- ' dsl toram'

It is quite impressive with just 35 MB loaded to RAM.
But I could not see my partitions. How do I see them and mount them ?

Because it's NOT idle. Did you run top or ps to see what's using CPU?

With the mount app, in emelfm, in mc, or in a terminal window by getting a list of them.

Thanks. I shall check as suggested by you. This is my first try of DSL and I hope to get familiar in a few days.

My prime aim is long battery life.

Some process hangs, check with top like lucky13 suggested.

It's most probably Xvesa, try Xfbdev to see if it calms down..

Then you need to find out what run-away processes you have and learn to kill them.
