Hey the DSL wiki seems to be being hit by spam quite a bit. If someone will set me up as an admin there, I'm happy to go start deleting those pages. I am new here and I can't promise my interest will hold for long in deleting spam. So, if someone else wants to do it vs making me an admin there, that's fine.

Someone already oversees the wiki.

ok. well. I don't want to be "THE ADMIN" but rather "an admin" i.e. someone who has the ability to delete pages since this spam is all new pages and deleting it is the best way to handle that stuff and only someone with admin privileges can do it.

But don't get me wrong...this is just an offer to help and I"m certainly happy not to bother if people feel it is already covered or just don't care about finding that 9/10ths of the stuff on the recent changes page tells us what spam bots have posted there. (Wow that sounds really sarcistic. I don't mean it that way but I think that is just the reality of how it is right now there.) Personally I think the wiki is a more valuable tool than the board in the long-run but only if it is being maintained and a good indicator of that is whether one lets spam override it.

You're exaggerating. I just looked through the wiki and I don't see any problems -- the present administrator appears to have it under control. Such is the nature of anything on the internet where people or whatever can post immediately.

If you're that concerned about the wiki, consider contributing to it. You don't need administrator privileges for that.
