Looking for advice to install toshutils - Toshiba Linux Utilities so my picture frame will boot automatically.

I know I can do "apt-get install toshutils" and the alarm applet, which is what I want, will be on the system. Problem with that is the MyDSL Repository utility stops working. Since toshutils is compiled with gtk2 I assume that has to be the issue.

All ideas appreciated.

DSL 4.0 using apt-get to install toshutils does not make the MyDSL Repository inoperative. However...

After installing GTK2 from the Repository and installing toshutils from apt-get I reboot and the apps I've installed from apt-get are gone.

How do I install non Repository apps with a frugal harddrive install to make them persistent?

Use deb2dsl to make toshutils.deb a DSL extension
