I installed DSL4.2.1 on my 5-year old Inspiron 8100. Everything looks good except the keyboard. Firstly, the volume up/down buttons don't work. I press the buttons but don't see any change in volume. I decrease volume in XMMS using mouse to 1%. But it is still too loud. Any other way to further reduce volume? In m$ windows, the volume panel has two slidebars to control sound output. Secondly, alt key doesn't work properly. I ssh to a linux machine. Alt key doesn't work in emacs running at the remote machine. DSL bash captures the alt-key input. When I press alt, text in DSL bash turns dark. Is there anyway to pass altkey to the remote emacs???
Thanks & Happy new year
