mikshaw, you're right. There's not much in syslog. But redirecting dmesg output to a file did the trick. I can see the full boot sequence and it looks like the errors are coming from the card readers. I have included them if it is of interest. Best of all wireless is working with 4.2 and ndiswrapper. Don't no why it didn't work at first. Maybe I didn't mount the drive with the bcmwl5.inf files. I'll work on the machines with atheros chips next. They worked oob with 3.2.
Here is my dmesg.log

Make sure there is a disc in the drive. <6>apm: BIOS version 1.2 Flags 0x07 (Driver version 1.16) <5>apm: overridden by ACPI. <6>ndiswrapper version 1.14 loaded (preempt=no,smp=yes) <6>ndiswrapper: driver bcmwl5 (Linksys,07/17/2003, 3.30.15.0) loaded <6>ndiswrapper: using irq 5 <6>wlan0: vendor: '' <6>wlan0: ndiswrapper ethernet device 00:0c:41:63:f9:7f using driver bcmwl5, 14E4:4320.5.conf <6>wlan0: encryption modes supported: WEP; TKIP with WPA; AES/CCMP with WPA
I was thinking about putting some cards in the readers to see if it makes a differece. Looks like the device sdb is causing all the errors.
As you can see wlan0 is up and it works using WEP 128 at least. DSL 4.2 looks good with the sata support.
Thanks,
