 That was Juanito's suggestion (Apr 23rd).  Where to find info on DSL is everywhere, but you have to be willing to read.
 
 BTW/  now your suspend function will also work.  Edit /cdrom/boot/grub/menu.lst  with "acpi=off" after you grub/install
