I cannot reach the MyDSL program on my HD implemented DSL
version 0.8.1.1. It displays bravely the three lines
Local applications, UCI appl. and Prog. available, but
no choice menu. However I can click on Index Page and then
I get the full page with the info buttons. Why not the
downloading page?  A DSL started from CD works perfectly.
Of course I can download all the application myself from
one of the mirrors, which is even much faster from a
local mirror (.be) then from ibiblio

I solved this problem myself. 0.8.1.1 works correctly
for getting MyDSL. I used 0.8.0 before which had that
trouble. Forget the fuss I made about it

However, there is another question: Where can I find
information how to make .dsl and .uci files? I have seen
that .uci's make their own cloop device in /tmp and hence
disappear on a restart. But what can I do with the the
downloaded .uci file when I save it on a permanent device?
I don't want to reload it every time. I tried to rebuild
mydslgui.pl to point to a more local mirror. Ibibio is
too far and too slow.   Willem

Just open an emelfm window and copy the *.uci , *.dsl or *.tar.gz files on to a permanent storage device like a hard drie, a USB drive or even a floppy disk for the small ones.

When you want to re-install, open emelfm and highlight the file and the click on the myDSL button inside the emelfm window.
