Hi, I have a Alcatel Speedtouch PCI Modem which isn't automatically detected by DSL 0.7.3 which is annoying as it its stopping me using it more. So anyway, I managed to track down some infomation of other people having a similiar problem. Alcatel (now Thomson) haven't released Linux drivers but the card I am using uses an ItEX inc. chipset which is the same one used by a similar modem sold by D-Link (the DSL-100D) and they have release a Linux driver. So I put that on a floppy disk as instructed (BTW this driver was intended for use with RH6.2, but I'd thought I'd give it a try anyway) but then when I tried moving the floppy files to "disk" it didn't work (because it write protect). The instructed location was "/usr/sbin". So what I would like to know is, is it possible to move the drivers to ram? Or even better has is anyone else using a the same modem as me and fixed the problem another way?
Thanks for your help in advance.
(If any terminology is wong, please tell me )
