I previously installed DSL on a compact flash card w/ CF IDE adapter and had it working OK on an old computer I had lying around.
Well, I picked up another old Amptron PM-599LMR motherboard on ebay with slightly better specs and wanted to try DSL on it.
So, I just moved the CF adapter over to the "new" computer with the same install, etc.
When I boot, it shows the penguin in the upper left corner, but the rest of the screen is blank.
Both vga=791, vga=771 give the same results.
vga=normal leaves a text message at the top of the screen:
"Ok, uncompressing the kernel" but that's all it does.
Any suggestions? Maybe this is not a video issue?
BTW, Winblows does boot on this thing although it only displays 800x600 @ 256 colors without the video driver installed.
Thanks,
Drew
