Hi,

Tried pan.dsl out on 0.9.2 via Live CD and it failed - something about GTK2.  So I installed gtk2.dsl.  It appears that pan needs to be able to write to the /etc/ directory.  Will try it with 0.9.3 shortly but I'm expecting to see the same "errors".

Do the MyDSLs have to be further split into those that work off of the Live CD and those that only function when DSL is installed on a HD (or bootable USB memory stick)?

Too much coffee?

The DSL extensions are created specifically for use in liveCD.  If you are getting errors then you are likely doing something wrong...what that might be is currently a mystery.

Here is the order of things I do when using factored gtk apps.

1. Anytime you are considering using the extensions to enhance your filesystem,
I suggest installing the gnu-utils.dsl first.  Busybox has limitations.

2. Install the gtk2.dsl , then run the menu option "update to gtk2",
or, from cli, run the command " start_gtk2 " ..

3. Now you can add any number of factored gtk2 apps.
Try installing the pan-gtk2 , then see if it runs.

I have seen some instances where libs that are found in the dsl-dpkg.dsl are needed as well..
My poorman's installs all have dsl-dpkg.dsl and gnu-utils.dsl installing at boottime.

Ha!

I wasn't doing the update part, actually I wasn't doing step 1 either, but I'll give it a go and let you know :-)
