I need to use the boot code, noscsi, with the CD or the system hangs,
but not with my boot disk!  It doesn't work with a HD install, I already tried that.

Will this method of booting cause me any problems?  Is it just as good as grub or lilo?  Why won't it work on the HD install? ???

You would have to check for the noscsi option on each of the boot devices depending on the install type, it could be in isolinux.cfg or syslinux.cfg, or lilo.conf or grub's menu.lst, or prehaps some other bootloader that you may be using.

Is their any specific problem with booting by floppy?  I find it to be more convienent than either lilo or grub because I only boot into DSL every few days.   I am learning about Linux in my spare time.

My active WIN98SE partition is on hda4, hda1 is a hidden partition.

If you are not aware of a specific problems with booting by floppy I am going to continue using this undocumented procedure.  I like it, but I was worried because apparently no one else was using it!
