After living with MS since DOS 4.1 ...I made the switch to Linux. It is nice to have so much control over the working parameters of this software.
Just to cover my path. I converted to Ubuntu about a year ago, playing on and off with it until it matured some. I came to DSL in a rather rounda-bout way. It was the only 'Live" disk that actually worked on any of my hardware.
The re-education curve from MS to Linux wasn't very pleasent, I purchased a couple of good books and have been glued to several forums learning. Learning in this case being install/mod/reinstall/mod/reinstall and copious note scribbling.
I am writing this from my notebook, on wireless, listening to Classical on xmms. Very cool. After much hard work, for me, I will enjoy learning more.
Sincerely, Grigorii
