Hey maybe I am blind but have not seen install instructions for DSL on a usb drive. Here's how I did it from windows:
1. Go here: ftp://ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/damnsmall/
2. Goto Folder "Current".
3. Select file dsl-1.3.1-embedded.zip, and download.
4. unzip file on usb drive.
5. When complete browse to usb drive and click on file: dsl-windows.bat.
6. Watch dsl boot inside your windows machine.
7. Want to boot from your USB drive? Reboot computer, goto bios setup select boot from usb-drive. Save and reboot. Presto..... You have a bootable usb-drive.
