I guess this is as appropriate a place as any to thank the developer of the "install to hard drive" script, everybody who made DSL possible, and the forum members who put up with me. ;)
After a lot of unnecessary stress and indeciseveness, I finally did a hard drive install last night on my Gateway P5-166, 2.37 gig HD, recently upgraded from 48MB RAM to 128MB. It dual boots with Win95USR1.
The install script was so easy I could have gotten a five year old to do it for me. I had more trouble with Mandrake 10.0 on my other PII.
My DSL partition is about half my HD and the basic system used only 14% of that as compared to 75% of the other half doing far less with the ultimate minimalist Windows install.
You haven't seen the last of me around here by any means, but it feels like an appropriate occaision for a warm fuzzy post.
