God Linux is frustrating...

Could someone tell me how to copy and paste text from Firefox to Abiword?

:(

Could be something messed up in the DSL version of one or the other programs.  I just tried it on another distro (also in fluxbox), and it worked using the edit menu, and it worked with the standard select-to-copy/middle-mouse-to-paste method

Simple way:

Highlight the text that you wish to copy by dragging the mouse pointer over the text until it lights up.

Then use the Fluxbox taskbar or the ALT-TAB key to move over to the destination program.

When the destination program becomes your active window, either press the MIDDLE mouse button (press the scroll wheel button down if you have a scrollmouse) or if you have a 2-button mouse with no scrollwheel, press the LEFT and RIGHT mousebuttons at the EXACT same time.

Your text should get pasted into the destination program.

This works fine with a 3 button mouse, but does not seem to work with a 2 button mouse.  Is it possible that DSL is only configured for a three button mouse?

You didn't state which version you are using as it does work with later versions of DSL. You must have selected the two button mouse during setup. So, if you have a two button mouse boot dsl with the xsetup option, or exit window manager and run xsetup.sh
