Ive have noticed a few more things:

Got smbclient to connect to my main windows machine very useful (not tried Liniux -> Linux link yet)

Is there a way to stop the MOTD coming up (in Dillo), as the laptop has a small screen and its getting annoying having to move the windows everytime! This also now aplies to starting Dillo normally and Glinks. Is there a way to resize them on load?

Also, got the ssh server to work on the laptop, but it does not behave as I expected!:(

On the laptop in X, logged in as root@IP via my main machine, and the terminal started to run an x server or soemthng? The laptop appeared to reboot in X and the prompt on the main machine did not go to a propmt as was in 0.4.8. Does this mean if I want to use ssh the host machine has to be out of X? ???  (this doesn't seem right)

Sorry if it doesn't make much sense, I'm trying to get my head round all these new bits. Otherwise thanks for you patience and assistance.

dillo MTOD is in the standard place. Edit .xinitrc to comment out or add your favorite X programs to start. As for the ssh server, it is usually used to scp for file transfer. If you want to login and use the command prompt you will have to disable startx. Edit the usual place(s), i.e., .bash_profile. If you want our system to boot to CLI then edit the appropriate .bash_profile and then save your changes with filetool.sh and backup and restore.

Libretto, I see what you mean.  Like Robert said, you can edit  root's .bash_profile and take out startx command.  We'll figure out a way to make .bash_profile somewhat smarter somewhere down the road -- maybe look for the env variable SSH_CLIENT and not startx if it's there.

Right, cheers for the info. I'm still trying to get my head round all the config files. Its just the SSH system being different to 0.4.8 which has thrown me a bit.

I was used to hit <CTRL>+<ALT>+<Backspace> to get me a terminal from within X.

Version 5 doesn't seem to have Virtual terminals anymore... How can I enable them?
Something about 'bash_profile' but I don't have that file anywhere...

Who can help me into a Virtual Terminal?
