How strange the "1.01 - 1.5GHz" has no votes so far, its like when people want to use old hardware they go to extremes. I primarly use DSL on a Pentium Pro 200 (64 ram, big hdd etc) at the moment, it used to get piroiry on my main computer AMD 2000+ (512 ram at the time, good videocard) but it would have been a waste of a gaming system to put dsl on it, support is too limited (on linux generaly also).

I might change in the future, but its not looking good at them moment for my ati radeon to be playing GTA:SA on linux anytime soon, oh well. At lest I didnt PAY for windows...

166mhz P1 on an AT board with
96mb 72pin SIMMs for ram,
a 2mb cirrus pci video card,
an old crystal ISA sound card
NE2000 ISA ethernet card
2gb hard drive
16x cdrom

It was my dad's machine, with win98se and dial up.
Needless to say it was a miserable thing to use, so I gave him a faster box and took it to play with linux on.

DSL2 was the ticket.
Puppy may have worked, but I find it to have a "stiff" feel and prefer DSL if hardware allows.
Very nice default desktop too.

Now its like a new machine.
Of course Firefox is slow as hell on it, but Firefox is slow on anything lol.
I expected it to be and patched Dillo rocks anyway.

Great job guys!

Sites not too bad.  Realtively clean layout.  Software and any support is very expensive, bloated and unreliable.  The hardware to support that bloated software is also expensive.

DSL has super support, inexpensive and runs on almost anything.  Unless you are a dedicated gamer DSl offers everything a normal user could want and need.
