Hi, I'm new on linux and dsl, and don't have lots of help around..

I have a few questions...

a) I have problems mounting my cd-rom... what's the name of the cd-rom file system???

b) My mouse moves slowly... How do I change its speed??

c) In Windows, I had to software increase the gamma and brightness... Can I do so in DSL?? (my monitor is broken)

d) Dont have make, cc or gcc installed :S I can't found it or it's not in the DSL package??

e) Is there any guide to newbies?? I want to configure a little few things... IE, I'm form Argentina and I don't have the ENIE, a letter in spanish languages...

f) I downloaded aMSN lots of times and in all of them the file command says "broken header" or some simmilar stuff... wtf??

Thank you all for your time...
Steven

a) if you are in X, you should have a mounter application in the right side of the screen.  Use the arrows to select the proper device and the button that looks kinda like a screw to mount/umount it. Or from a terminal, type "mount /dev/cdrom" or "mount /mnt/cdrom".  If it's not one of these, I don't know what the device is.  After mounting, the contents of the cdrom should be available through /mnt/cdrom.
If you're using a liveCD, you will need to boot with the "toram" option in order to use the cdrom.

b) Take a look at the "m" option of the xset command:
http://www.die.net/doc/linux/man/man1/xset.1.html

c) I dunno...might need xfree86 for that?

d) the mydsl package is gcc1.dsl
http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/damnsmall/mydsl/

e) You can find some documentation at the wikki (link on the main damnsmalllinux.org page).

f) You can get the mydsl package from the link above.
