I burned a disk and ran it in a old laptop I have and it works fine, but I have a newer machine (Dell) and when I boot up from the disk I have no icons. I looked at the icon screen and all of them are listed in the remove list. What is the deal, I can change wallpaper and all of that but no icons....any ideas?

i exit x and then startx and it seems to fix it everytime.
