Dear all,

I have tried all screen resolutions that appear on the live CD when it boots but none of them have worked.  Being a good n00b I searched the forums and found that after booting up normally I needed to do

Ctrl-Alt-Backspace

and then type:

Code Sample
xsetup.sh

to specify the right resolution of my screen 1024x768 with H: 68.6 K and V: 85 Hz

I haven't tried that just yet but I will do so soon!

The embedded DSL works very well and I just learned the trick Ctrl-Alt-F to maximize the screen  :D

My goal is to learn how to boot from a live CD [ I was able to do it before but now, it just doesn't like me ]

Regards,

Hey,

It is me again you all :D  I managed to run xsetup.sh and configure the resolution to what I needed 1024x768.  Problem is, it didn't improve anything that much and the colors are still a mess.  What is dpi (dot pitch? I am reading my monitor's manual)?  I also adjusted the depth to 32 per the manual...  How can I improve the resolution and coloring of my live CD?  I need to work on this for when I start using the USB stick.  Now, I will do a search on the disappearing icons problem  :O

Kind regards,

The resolution problem has been solved! Weeeee!

I just tried and tried and tried until I pressed F3 and configured the settings for my screen.  Now, all  looked pretty and I was truly happy but when connecting to the internet by dial-up none of the webpages opened!  That is, the modem was detected, it dialed up but no webpages :(  No yahoo, no dsl, no nothing... :(

I shall continue trying!
