ImageMagick is in the MyDSL repository, in "uci" section.  I couldn't say for sure if it supports xwd, but it probably does.

I don't know of any other commandline image tools that are definitely known to work in DSL.

Another point i should make is that since it's a uci it will not decrease your available ramdisk space, so that's something to consider.
