You're right, UKBill, the light was off but the keys worked fine.  Without the light to guide me I never tried to press the keys, I guess.

Hi All,

Sorry for reviving this old thread, but i've got the same problem:

Numlock works correctly in the BIOS, in single user mode etc; but as soon as X starts up, NumLock does not work.

xev reports the numlock key being pressed and released, changes the "state" of the keypad keys from 0x0 to x10, but the keys do not scroll firefox

As I change windows manager from flux to jwm the numlock key works, but as soon as the window manager loads, the key becomes "disabled" again

Any ideas??

Hi All,

I am fairly new to DSL.  I am using version 2.3 from HDD & CD and also have a problem with the NumLock function.  I have tested on 5 very different PC's with the same following results.

In X, the NumLock function but the LED state does not change.  This means that the numeric keypad keys chnage state from application mode to numeric mode and back as required but the LED does not indicate which state you are in.

Using rdesktop, the NumLock function does not work at all.  The numeric keypad keys stay in the mode that they are in when rdesktop is started.

Looking forward to any assistance you can provide.  Thanks.

Mike.  ???
