Another new Menu!

Here is the problem solved by this menu:
You cannot backup or restore with a USB memory stick, just a floppy disk.
Mozilla Firebird cannot be saved from one bootup to the next.
You have downloaded and run Mozilla Firebird, so you have a
/ramdisk/opt/MozillaFirebird directory for the time being.
You run Damn Small Linux from the CD, or have copied the
/knoppix directory on the CD to your hard drive (somewhere).
In that case, you are using a boot floppy to get DSL to run off
the hard drive /knoppix folder.

Here's what you need to do to use the new menu to run Mozilla Firebird from one bootup to the next, without downloading it:
First, copy your /ramdisk/opt/MozillaFirebird directory to your hard drive.
I have mine in /dev/hdb1, a second hard drive, that has an installation of Mandrake 8 on it. You could just use a small hard drive, as slave, and format it to ext2, with DSL's /sbin/mkfs.ext2 like so:
#cd /sbin
#mkfs.ext2 /dev/hdb1
You can change that to the partition you are using. If there is
already a linux installation on it, no need to mkfs, just use emelfm
(Icon for Emelfm on DSL's desktop) and after mounting the target partition, copy the entire /MozillaFirebird directory over there for permanent savekeeping (it'll be on a hard drive).

You will need to download it, using MozillaFirebird, and once you have it, place it in the /home/damnsmall/.fluxbox directory,
where you already have the default menu. Rename your old menu, and rename the new one to install:
#cp fluxbox_menu_2 menu
Then restart the window manager, using the menu:
Windowmanagers > Restart
You will need to modify the menu's area for MozillaFirebird, the third group down in the file, to reflect the exact location of your partition, and where MozillaFirebird can be found and started. To do that,
in an rxvt, sudo su (to root), then:
#cd /home/damnsmall/.fluxbox
#ls (you should see "menu")
#scite menu (This will bring up the menu in scite)
Since you are using "cp" to copy from my menu to yours, no
need to worry about errors in editing in scite, you can always
start over with a fresh copy. Just be sure, also, to rename your original menu before working with the new one, so you can have it back again, if you have a permanent hard drive install.
Since I just copied the /knoppix directory (about 50 mb) over to my Window 98 partition, and run Damn Small Linux with a boot disk, rather than the CD, then I start over new each time anyway, just like the CD. That's why I have to first run the floppy restore after I boot up, restart the window manager, then access the new menu items, in order to get MozillaFirebird to run.

As the menu says, first you have to make a directory on your DSL filesystem for the partition where you have /MozillaFirebird
Then, you have to mount it. That's the second item on the menu.
Finally, you run MozillaFirebird, with the last item on the menu.
